The New Hazelton RCMP includes an administration area, vehicle bays and 6 holding cells. The building is a single story concrete slab on grade with steel structure and a metal roof. The exterior envelope includes a combination of metal cladding, stucco and block veneer. The entrance is highlighted with a heavy timber structure with solid wood decking above. The building was one of the first RCMP Detachments to utilize geothermal heating and cooling that consists of 18 vertical boreholes drilled to a depth of approximately 40 meters that are looped together and tied into ground source heat pump that transfers energy to the building mechanical system.
