Thompson Rivers University
Thompson Rivers University Old Main Addition-Phase 1 Building Shell work consisted of removing the existing roof and construction of a third and fourth floor addition of approximately 4,000m2. The roof structure renovations include state of the art prefabricated wall and roof elements, fabricated on site to enclose the tail, flowing and inspirational indoor space over a unique “wave” design. The renovations to this building included exterior façade upgrades, new entry vestibules, additional exiting stair structures and a new elevator.
Work commenced on May 1, 2012 and had to be complete by September so students could be back in classes in the lower two floors.
The second phase of the project involved the interior finishing and fit-out of the building. The work included curved wood ceilings and all other interior architectural, mechanical and electrical finishing to fully fit-out the Faculty of Law Building. This phase was completed while the lower floors were occupied.
Both phases were performed under a stipulated sum contract.
