This new state-of-the-art, three storey secondary school was sited and designed as an integral part of its neighboring buildings and landscapes. It integrates the school and a Neighborhood Learning Centre (NLC) community programs. The NLC includes a 500-seat community theatre and a youth health clinic. The structure of the school consists of concrete and structural steel. Profiled metal cladding and Prodema panel siding form the exterior elements.

A First Nations Gathering Space is incorporated into the building to celebrate First Nations values and traditions of the community. The school features extensive use of wood following the British Columbia Wood First Initiative. Yellowridge secured additional funding from the Canadian Wood Council to incorporate an innovative wood roof into the small gymnasium. The design won the 2012 BC Wood Design Awards for Wood Innovation.
