Soda Creek Community Centre

Soda Creek, BC

The Soda Creek project, located in Soda Creek, B.C., features a total floor area of 1,023 m² and serves as a new community centre and office for the Xatsull Indian Band.

The building’s design emphasizes the use of wood, reflecting the First Nation's commitment to a fiscally responsible, functional, and sustainable facility. Constructed primarily from locally sourced materials, the project integrates wood into both its structure and finishes, ensuring durability, low maintenance, and a connection to the surrounding environment.

Materials such as composite lumber, Douglas fir plywood sheathing, glulam beams, and glulam timber panels were sourced locally and installed by tradespeople from the Soda Creek First Nations area.
